Tech Circles / Brushes ~ Tutorial
This is a very simple tutorial showing you the basics to making tech circle creations.
Tools We'll be Using
Squares & Rectangles I started off with a large canvas size, the thumbnails you see are my canvas at 50%. I think my start was something around 600x500. On a new layer, select your Rectangular Merquee Tool and start forming square and rectangle shapes. Make multiple selections by holding down the shift key. |
Filling In After you are finished making your squares, fill them in using the Paint Bucket Tool. Then De-Select your selection. |
Polar Coordinates Now to add a filter. Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates will give curve to your squares. Select the Rectangular to Polar option. |
So this is my tech circle so far.. you can stop here if your satisfied. To make it a brush, skip down a step. |
Customizing I dont like my tech circle, I think it looks too fat, so I'm going to get rid of some techie stuff. Using the Magic Wand Tool select the parts you dont like, then hit ctrl+X. This will get rid of your selection. |
Finishing / Making a Brush I now have my tech the way I like it, so I'm going to turn it into a brush for future use. To make it a brush, goto Edit > Define Brush in your Menu. |
Naming the Brush Name your brush and your finished. Dont forget to save your brushes after you finish them. |
