Time to Add the Character. You CAN leave part of the character outside of the square. |
I myself am leaving this character's head outside of the square, and cropping off the rest of him since hes already cut off. You can place the background image over the character image if you need to. In my case I didnt need to. |
Place the gradiant image over the character image. We are now at another check point, the image to the left should be close to what yours looks like at this point. Be glad, we're nearly done ^^ |
Once again another check point.. to the left you will see the layers and the order they should be in. |
This is Optional: Select the Background Layer. You will be adding Layer Properties. Right click the Background Layer and choose Layer Properties. Next seclect Drop Shadow and set the properties. These properties can be anything you like, I used a basic drop shadow to the left, to give it a simple-original feel. I used Black, Multiply, 135 Degrees, 75% Opacity, 5 Distance, 0 Spread, 5 Size and Global Light. |
This is also Optional: In the Layer Properties select Outer Glow. This again can be anything you want, but once again I chose something more simple and original. The settings I chose are Black, Normal, 100% Opacity, 70 Spread, 1 Size, and the default curve. At this point you can add whatever else you would like in your splash page as well (like Text for example). Just remember the area you see is your work space. If something cuts off in your work space, it will cut off when you open Photoshop as well. |
Ahh we're so close, can you feel it? Hehe ^^ Delete the old splash image layer, and save your photoshop document as SPLASHART.PNG. Open ResBuild, Extend the PNGF Folder, and search for SPLASHART.PNG. In your Browser Window search for your own SPLASHART.PNG file. Copy it, locate and Paste it in the Temp Folder in the ResBuild folder. At this point look at ResBuild again, you should see your own splash page in place of the old splash page. Now this is not permanent so we have to Save. A box will come up, click OK, and your splash page is complete. But it is not in effect with Photoshop. For this locate the PSViews.dll file you were working on, copy and Paste it into the Photoshop Folder. Save it over the old PSViews.dll file. |
Thats it! Open Photoshop and enjoy ^^ - Click here to see my Final Version. |
