Welcome to reality
words I never wish to hear
this world is one I like to run from
I don't do well with fear

I know its only natural
for responsiblity to kick in with age
but for me its so paralyzing
similar to performing on a stage

everyone is watching you
you have a part to play
if you make the wrong move now
what will the critics say?

we all must beleive in ourselves
but its not as easily said as done
for some of us just waking in the morning
is far from the meaning of fun

people like me can manage change
but to take responsibility is much too hard
to get to the point we are in now
already seems like we've gone so far

we realize we can no longer look back
for what has been done is already past
we realize that living in the present is a challenge
but this present can move so fast

we miss the times we can lay and dream
to close our eyes and fly
I miss the days I can run without conflict
straight towards the floating sky

perhaps in the end we dont truly forget
the world and dreams we loved
but missplace the time so we cant reminisce
those missing places of

yet welcome to reality
those taunting words people say
perhaps if I refuse to let go
my dreams won't slip away.
