Time has flown by so quickly, it has already been two months since we met each other. At the time, we had no idea what we were in for, and we are still unsure. But even so, we’ve grown to know each other, and from what we are aware of, that is what will matter the most.

My name is Cerady Beltan, and I am seventeen years old. I was born a week from Christmas, and I enjoy the arts. If I had to describe myself, I’d say that I am very cautious, yet very stubborn. I have dark brown hair, deep blue eyes, and stand 5’5 tall. My Mother is a fashion designer, whom I hope to follow after when I’m older. My Father is an archaeologist, and because he works and studies in Egypt, he isn’t home much.

We moved here two and a half months ago, when my Mother decided to move her main office to a small city named Avyre, located in California. I transferred into a new high school, named Newbury High. Newbury is a high class school, known for its elite soccer teams, both male and female, and for their immense pride and success within their school activities. It was here that all four of us met for the first time.

The first girl I met was named Moirae Loren, who sat next to me in our literature course. Moirae had pale skin, shoulder length dark-red hair, and deep emerald green eyes. She was about 5’5 and had a sense of seriousness to her. At first I was not sure what to think about her, but after getting to know her more, she has become one of my best friends. She’s really bright, but with all the computer knowledge and reading she does, I sure would hope so.

After meeting Moirae, a week passed until I met the second girl. Her name was Andrea Lenn, and she was the star of her female soccer team. The first impression I got from her was almost typical of an upper class student. She had a sense of overwhelming confidence about her, was energetic, and very popular. Her eyes were a light brown, almost hazel or cinnamon. Her hair was a sleek shade of golden blonde that fell halfway down her back, and she stood about 5’6 tall.

The last and final girl I wouldn’t meet until 3 weeks after I transferred into Newbury High. Her name was Kyrene Torras, and she was as soft as she was graceful. Her hair was light brown, and worn in a braid behind her back. Her eyes were a light color of teal, and could be mistaken as grey depending on the color of her clothing. She was short, around 5’3 or 5’4, but very petite in size. She liked cooking a lot, and she was good at it.

Aside from Andrea, the three of us greeted each other in the hall daily, then went our separate ways. However, it was on my first month’s anniversary that we met ‘him’. It all happened in a flash, in such an unusual place, at an unusual time, in such an unusual coincidence. How all four of us had come together in that park that night, is far beyond my comprehension.

A man of 5’10 appeared before us, in a white and gold trimmed cloak. He spoke of a faraway place surrounded in mystery and magic, a world where the inhabitants relied on the powers and protection of the four priestess’ and their knights. All of us believed he was speaking nonsense, yet all four of us were compelled to hear him out. If there was such a world, we were required for it, he said. He said fate joined us together in this location, to learn our destinies in this world he called Kirin.

After the night was over, the four of us didn’t know what to believe. We do know that since that night, the four of us found it so absurd, that without realizing it, we created a bond through the joking and mockery of this man. The four of us are now inseparable, despite our polar opposite personalities, and have begun learning everything there is to know about each other. Things were progressing as nicely as any teenager could hope, until the day we began seeing strange creatures attached to the heads of Avyre’s citizens.
